Fall Crafts for Kids

Fall Crafts for Kids

Looking for something fun to do at home with your child? Arts and crafts are a great way to spend quality time with your kids, and we know it can be hard to find some fun ones. We wanted to make it easy for you so we’ve created a list of our favorite arts and crafts activities for you to try this fall!

Leaf Hedgehogs

Materials you will need:

  • Leaves from your favorite fall foliage tree
  • Black marker
  • Glue
  • White paper
  • Scissors (Optional)

Steps: Glue the leaf/leaves on a white piece of paper, draw hedgehog spikes on the leaf/leaves and complete with little legs on the bottom of the leaves! You can even cut out the hedgehogs when you’re done!

Paper Mosaic Pumpkins

Materials you will need:

  • Paper plate
  • Glue
  • Tissue paper (orange and black)
  • Green pipe cleaner
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors

Steps: Cut  the orange tissue paper into 1-2” pieces, spread glue on the backside of the paper plate using the paintbrush, then glue the tissue paper pieces on the plate. Next, cut the black tissue paper into the shape of eyes, nose and mouth for your pumpkin’s face. Lastly, take the green pipe cleaner and curl it around your finger to create a curly stem for the top of your pumpkin. This can be a fun and much safer alternative to Jack-O-Lanterns.

Popsicle Stick Apple Cores

Materials you will need:

  • Mini Popsicle sticks
  • Glue
  • Construction paper (red, green and brown)
  • Black marker
  • Scissors

Steps: Glue 3 mini popsicle sticks together, then cut two semi circles of red construction paper (one to be glued on the top of the popsicle sticks and one to be glued on the bottom of the popsicle sticks). Next, cut a small rectangle of the brown construction paper for the stem of your apple. Then cut a curved triangle of green construction paper for the leaf of the apple. Lastly, use the black marker to draw apple seeds on the popsicle sticks. You can even enjoy some apples as a snack while crafting to really bring this to life.
